SPOKEN WORD BY Lennon Beasley LIBRARY CLOSURE & RESTART It was Friday, March 13, 2020. Nobody had any idea what was going to happen. This was the last time for those people who went to the Monroe County Public Library to not only to come and record but do digital projects and all kind of programs as well as to hang out. March 14, 2020 COVID-19 Struck the world & Bloomington, Indiana and as well as The Monroe County Public Library. The library began to close down for further notice and was suppose to be reopening back up to normal hours was on Monday April 6, 2020. Unfortunately, it wasn’t happening. Monroe County Public remained closed From March 14 through Monday, September 28, 2020. Happily, the Monroe County Public Library finally reopened as a restart for limited hours at a time. Starting Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday & Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and as well as Sundays from Noon to 5 p.m. Everybody was happy to return and entered in to the library starting out with limited capacity up to 100 patrons at a time per day and 1 hour visit limitation per day. Sadly, lasted for a short while From Monday, September 28, 2020 - Sunday, November 29, 2020. COVID-19 struck again. Struck the world & Bloomington, Indiana as well as The Monroe County Public Library for closure. The Monroe County Public Library again started back for closure on Monday, November 30, 2020 through February 23, 2021 Happily for the 2nd time in a row, the Monroe County Public Library finally reopened as a restart for limited hours at a time. Starting Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday & Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and as well as Sundays from Noon to 5 p.m. High risk patrons will be entering in too Monroe County Public Library in the very first open hour of each day This time everybody who comes to the Monroe County Public Library was so delighted to see each other and remains limited capacity up to 100 patrons per day and 1 hour visit per day. Wasn’t many patrons at the Monroe County Public Library only around 50 people came out of 100 capacity. However, the library capacity of 100 patrons has lifted away. Happily, On Monday, May 3rd, 2021. The Monroe County public library expanded the hours now becomes Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Fridays & Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and as well as Sundays from Noon to 6 p.m. the library was 100 capacity at the time. However, there were not many patrons at the Monroe County Public Library only around 50 people came out of 100 capacity. However, the library capacity of 100 went ahead and lifted away. Happy once again, On Monday June 21st, 2021. The Monroe County public library has resume back to the regular normal hours now becomes Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays & Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and as well as Sundays from Noon to 6 p.m. Yet Happily, On July 5th, 2021. Now Level Up (Digital Creativity Center) as well as The Ground Floor (Teen Space) were opening back up and back in action I became the 1st library patron who entered in and returning to Level Up just like I became the 1st library patron who entered in Level Up as of Sunday, March 1st, 2015. First, LEVEL UP (Digital Creativity Center) re-opened started at 9 a.m. And Second, THE GROUND FLOOR (Teen Space) re-opened started at 3 p.m. also was on Monday, July 5th, 2021 as well Yet Happily, 2 weeks later was on Monday, July 19th, 2021. Meeting rooms and auditorium re-opened for all kinds of programs Study rooms are now re-opened for studying as well. Happily now the whole library is now back in action and everything is open 1. TECHNOLOGY IS NOW OPEN 2. MEETING ROOMS ARE OPEN 3. AUDITORIUM IS NOW OPEN 4. REFERENCE HELP IS NOW OPEN 5. PHYSICAL MATERIALS ARE NOW OPEN 6. BABY SPACE IS NOW OPEN 7. LEARN & PLAY SPACE ARE NOW OPEN 8. TWEEN SPACE IS NOW OPEN 9. GROUND FLOOR (TEEN SPACE) IS NOW OPEN 10. OUTDOOR & VIRTUAL EVENTS ARE NOW OPEN 11. LEVEL UP (Digital Creativity Workstations) IS NOW OPEN 12. LEVEL UP (Video & Audio Recording Studios) IS NOW OPEN 13. THE INDIANA ROOM (Local & Family History) IS NOW OPEN 14. STUDY ROOMS ARE NOW OPEN 15. RECOMMENDATION IS NOW OPEN 16. VITAL (Volunteering In Tutoring Adult Learners) IS NOW OPEN 17. FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY BOOKSTORE IS NOW OPEN 18.
